On August 19-21, 2015, WWF Indonesia through the "Ring of Fire" program was given the opportunity to participate in the 3rd Indonesia International Geothermal Convention & Exhibition (IIGCE) event which took place at the Assembly Hall Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). At this year's event, IIGCE raised the theme "From Resources to Prosperity: Executing Indonesia's Geothermal Development Strategy" with a series of events including workshops, conventions, exhibitions, field trips, writing competitions, and photo competitions.

The event was opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Joko Widodo and accompanied by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Mr. Sudirman Said and also the ambassadors of friendly countries. Along with this opening, 5 power purchase agreements (PPA), 9 MOUs, and 13 geothermal licenses were signed. The president also emphasized the need to handle services for investors who have invested in Indonesia.

On this occasion, WWF introduced to the visitors about the "Ring of Fire" program related to WWF's position in geothermal development, and the civil society capacity building program conducted by WWF in 3 provinces in Sumatra (Aceh, Jambi and Lampung). The WWF booth also played videos of training materials and provided prizes such as Ring of Fire T-shirts, pins and goodie bags for visitors who were willing to take the time to write comments or fill out questionnaires about their views on the link between geothermal, environment and society.
