Manado (02/06)-As an effort to increase the demand for sustainable seafood, WWF-Indonesia held the "Wise Choosing Seafood" campaign in three major cities namely Manado, Jakarta, and Makassar. The first series of campaign activities was held on May 30-31, 2011 at Manado Town Square.
Through the public campaign, WWF socialized the idea of sustainable seafood and invited the public to be more selective in choosing seafood.
For two days, mall visitors were given the latest Seafood Guide as a guide to choosing sustainable seafood and also filled out a petition to support saving the ocean. The Seafood guide describes a wide selection of responsibly caught or harvested fish. The guide explains the types of fish such as green markings for seafood which is recommended to eat, yellow for seafood which can be eaten occasionally and red for seafood which should be avoided.
