BNI COMMITTED TO SUPPORT WWF-INDONESIA CONSERVATION PROGRAM

Jakarta, December 20, 2012.Coinciding with the fifth day of WWF-Indonesia's 50th Anniversary Celebration series entitled "Golden Path of Love - An Offering of Love for the Earth" at Plaza Theater Jakarta, Taman Ismail Marzuki, PT Bank Negara Indonesia tbk (BNI) symbolically signed a memorandum of cooperation on environmental conservation with WWF-Indonesia. In the agreement, BNI disbursed Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL) funds worth Rp 2 billion.
Meanwhile in his speech, CEO/Executive Director WWF-Indonesia, DR. Efransjah, hoped that with this cooperation BNI could continue to be committed to protecting and preserving the environment with WWF-Indonesia. "In the clause of our cooperation, it is revealed that BNI is at the forefront of environmental conservation, and this really needs to be appreciated. Hopefully other corporate parties will also be lured to be at the forefront of environmental conservation," he explained.
The disbursement of PKBL funds worth Rp 2 billion is intended for community empowerment around conservation areas by utilizing local natural resources in a sustainable manner through optimizing local wisdom.
The funding support will be used for 4 programs that are being carried out by WWF-Indonesia, namely the reforestation and catchment conservation program through the NEWtrees scheme in Rinjani-Lombok National Park, West Nusa Tenggara. In the short term, this program seeks to rehabilitate 10 hectares of degraded land in Mount Rinjani National Park by planting 4 thousand trees of local native vegetation.

About "Golden Path of Love - An Offering of Love for the Earth"
"Golden Path of Love - An Offering of Love for the Earth" is a folk party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of WWF-Indonesia. The celebration itself was centered in the TIM environment and lasted for 8 full days from December 16 to December 23, 2012. Various interesting and unique events were held with various art and cultural expressions consisting of art performances, dance, acoustic music, talkshow, stand-up comedy, nature tales, happening art, photo exhibitions, and so on. The whole event involves various institutions, communities, artists, professionals, and individuals who activate environmental conservation and can be followed by all levels of society.
At the peak of WWF Indonesia's 50th anniversary celebration on December 22-23, the 'Golden Path of Love' performance will be held: An Offering of Love for the Earth in the form of a Colossal Art Performance. This performance is a theater that illustrates WWF-Indonesia's long journey in conservation efforts in Indonesia, filled by 200 performers, is a collaboration and contribution from actors, actresses, singers from various genres, musicians, modern and traditional dancers, puppeteers, models, politicians, government figures, conservation figures, entrepreneurs, and many more. The production team is led by Viky Sianipar as music director, Rani Badri Kalianda as art director, and Raden Sirait as fashion director who specifically designs nature-themed clothing to be worn by all supporters of the event. A series of artists and models will perform, including Ardina Rasti, Asty Ananta, Smitha Anjani, Andara Rainy, Luciana Zaluska, Prisia Nasution, Sharena Rizky, Anneke Djody, Tio Pakusadewo, Ubiet, Putri Ayu, Rio Febrian, Rio Silaen, Topodade, Edo Kondologit, Jamaica Café, Sruti Perwati, Danel Christianto, Ine Febriyanti, Adinia Wirasti, Ratna Riantiarno, Nungky Kusumastuti, Zivana Letisha, Qory Sandioriva, Agni Pratista, Duma Riris, Kamidia Radisty, Paula Verhoeven, Kimmy Jayanti, Filantropi, and Max5. All proceeds from the show will be donated to WWF-Indonesia's conservation programs.
