AIESEC BINUS GETS TO KNOW CORAL AND THE SEA WITH PANDA MOBILE
By: Kristi Theresia (Volunteer Panda Mobile)
Panda Mobile WWF-Indonesia collaborates again with the world youth organization, AIESEC. This time the collaboration is with AIESEC Bina Nusantara University (BINUS) in an environmental-themed project with AIESEC exchange program students. The activity which took place on Thursday (21/07) was attended by EP students and AIESEC members and raised the theme "Coral & Marine".
After opening with the introduction of WWF-Indonesia by Pratama Aditya Haryanto, Panda Mobile Coordinator, the participants got information about "Coral & Marine". In the presentation, Pratama explained about marine biodiversity in Indonesia, especially coral, turtles, and whale sharks. Indonesia is a migration route for turtles and whale sharks, animals that are the focus of WWF-Indonesia's conservation work. The theme was a request from AIESEC BINUS, which often works with WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile.
After gaining insight into the sea and coral, the participants practiced making hydroponics. This technique of planting by utilizing water without using soil attracted the attention of participants. Divided into two groups, each participant tried to make their own hydroponic plants. Accompanied by volunteers, the exchange program students and AIESEC members were very excited to try out the hydroponic technique. At the time of making hydroponics, participants also asked many questions about the activities carried out by WWF-Indonesia. The activity was closed with a group photo and the handover of certificates from AIESEC to WWF-Indonesia's Panda Mobile.
