Seafood Market Transformation Specialist — Jakarta

WWF-Indonesia, an independent national conservation organization, is part of a global network of WWF. WWF-ID is currently seeking the best candidate for the position of Seafood Market Transformation Specialist. This position will be based in Jakarta and report directly to Sustainable Fisheries Program Manager.

This position provides operational support in the development and transformation of the seafood trade chain through efforts to influence fisheries governance, policies, and sustainable fisheries practices, especially in ensuring the fulfillment and achievement of the Yayasan WWF Indonesia Seafood Market Transformation program.

The scope of activities includes:

  • Develop a Theory of Change for the transformation of the seafood industry in Indonesia towards seafood ecolabel (i.e.: MSC, ASC, and RSSIP)
  • Running the daily operations of the Seafood Savers secretariat, to ensure that all standards and Institutional guidelines have been implemented properly
  • Manage relationships with Seafood Savers members, including but not limited to: (1) rights and obligations of company members; (2) the fulfillment of the provisions of the Institutional Guideline SS went well and optimally
  • Identification of companies to become members of Buyer Seafood Savers and implementation of Responsible Seafood Sourcing Improvement Program (RSSIP)
  • Support maintaining the credibility of the seafood ecolabel certification scheme with FIP, AIP and RSSIP quality and well-documented.
  • Collecting and analyzing data, and managing the Seafood Market Transformation database in the Marine and Fisheries Program
  • Provide educative and informative content regarding the results of data from Seafood Market Transformation for use in the Seafood Campaign
  • Update seafood awareness campaign content and materials, including but not limited to Seafood Advisor
  • Conducting Consumer awareness activities and Annual Seafood Savers Meeting
  • Establish and manage partnerships with related parties, especially in the fisheries sector (government, academics, corporations, NGOs/CSOs etc.)
  • Provide support in efforts to optimize project and program management (Work plans, reporting, etc.)

Requirements for this position are:

  • Minimum Master's degree (S-2) majoring in marine science, fisheries science, environmental management, or other related majors.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in fisheries management and business
  • Have active English language skills, both oral and written, as well as good public communication skills.
  • Highly committed to efforts to manage marine and fisheries resources in a sustainable manner.
